macmon secure becomes part of the global Belden Group

The leading vendor of network access control solutions, macmon secure GmbH, Berlin, today announces its acquisition by Belden Inc. Going forward, macmon will become part of Belden’s Industrial Network Solutions (INS) Business led by Brian Lieser, which is part of the Belden Industrial Automation platform. INS is a global organization headquartered in the Stuttgart area of Germany and includes the leading networking and connectivity brands of Hirschmann, ProSoft, OTN Systems and Lumberg Automation. macmon CEO Christian Bücker will lead the business as Business Director for Belden and will continue to drive the progressive development of the company with his 70-strong team.

Bücker says: "We have grown dynamically and organically in recent years. Companies of different industries and sizes benefit from our macmon NAC solution. Last year, we were able to take an important strategic step with macmon SDP and now also secure corporate resources in the cloud. We have already carried out over 1,500 installations and achieve a customer satisfaction rate of 95 %. When it comes to internationalization, however, we have always come up against capacity limits. It is a great opportunity for us, as a member of a global technology group, to be able to market our solutions for secure network managementworldwide as well, and to be able to push our innovations further."

Belden Inc. also includes Hirschmann, a technology and market leader in industrial networks. Hirschmann offers a complete, integrated infrastructure for data communications. In the run-up to the acquisition, macmon and Hirschmann had already started a large joint project for an American company. It was quickly realized that the combination of both technological expertise is unique in the market and offers excellent synergies and high profitability.

Bücker adds: "Cybersecurity incidents in industrial management systems can be traced back to several vectors, such as system vulnerabilities, gaps in the network architecture, lack of network segmentation and non-secure hardware and software configurations. Here we can offer a strong combination – our network security portfolio including network management coupled with Hirschmann’s Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) expertise. And, of course, we have been very familiar with Hirschmann switches from daily practice for years."

Brian Lieser, VP and Managing Director Industrial Network Solutions, brings solid and proven NAC and SDP solutions into the portfolio with macmon secure: "We have evaluated themarket for security solutions extensively. macmon enjoys an excellent reputation as a reliable and innovative partner. Together, we can offer our global customers an uninterrupted, secure, and scalable network infrastructure. This enables our industrial customers to revolutionize their operations and increase their efficiency, productivity and flexibility. The issue of IT security is of exponentially growing importance."
