Self-welding covering from Armacell: Arma-Chek® Wrap

  • Quick and easy to install
  • High mechanical and UV-resistance
  • One-stop solution for technical insulation

Armacell, a global leader in flexible foam for the equipment insulation market and a leading provider of engineered foams, presents a revolutionary solution for covering mechanical equipment. ArmaCladTM Arma-Chek® Wrap is a highly flexible, self-welding cladding material which offers high mechanical and UV-resistance.

With Arma-Chek Wrap the installation of flexible covering materials now becomes even easier and faster: The covering is simply wrapped around the insulated pipe with an overlap of 20mm and it connects itself with the surface of the insulation material without any further measures, additional adhesive or tape. The best part: It does not vulcanise immediately, but the installation can still be adjusted within 10 to 20 minutes after the application. A knife or scissors is all that is needed for the installation.

Arma-Chek Wrap offers the perfect combination of high flexibility and mechanical strength. Unlike rigid jacketing systems, the flexible material recovers from mechanical impact without any dents, which could lead to a compression of the insulation underneath and condensation on the pipe. The flexible covering allows easy application even in the tightest spaces and difficult building situations. What’s more: As the black covering material is highly absorptive, thinner insulation thicknesses can be specified to prevent condensation.

“Whether protecting insulated pipes, ducts, elbows, flanges, T-pieces or vessels, Arma-Chek Wrap is versatile and can be installed on various technical insulation materials. It is the ideal solution when a quick covering is needed”, says Sascha Kaiser, Product Manager EMEA at Armacell. “Our new covering is even suitable for outdoor applications: It is UV- and weather-resistant, rainproof and resistant to most chemicals. The moisture- and waterproof material protects technical equipment from corrosion under insulation (CUI).”

Arma-Chek Wrap is 100 percent recyclable and free of halogens, silicone and solvents. It is available in 10-metre rolls and widths of 70, 250, 500, 750 and 1,050 mm. ArmaClad is Armacell’s new family brand for all covering solutions.
