Cologne-based start-up develops revolutionary transparent mask with exchangeable filters – 100% Made in Germany

.

Smart design allowing facial expressions to be seen again.
Clair Solutions with its female founder Anna Müller (27 years old) has already begun its quest for cleaner air in 2018. Now, the wearing of protective masks has become normality. The common masks however cause waste and are uncomfortable to wear. Therefore the team’s goal was to offer a stylish, high-quality alternative to the well-known disposable masks. Now this claim has been further developed in line with the current situation and a production network has been established in Germany. The result – AIO®, a mask that can be used as often as desired with exchangeable FFP2 filter pads. In addition to that the mask is transparent and therefore extremely valuable in communication with deaf people and professions (hospitality industry, nursing and medical staff) in which facial expressions play an important role.

The credo: Being able to breathe freely and comfortably
Designing the AIO® mask it was paramount for the team to maximize protection while minimizing uncomfortability and the waste problem. The transparent design being the most apparent feature morphs the protective mask into a fashion statement. The look is subtle and can be customized according to the wishes of its owner. Due to the skin-friendly and medically tested materials, AIO® masks are light and a pleasure to wear. In addition, the mask be cleaned easily and quickly by hand or in the dish washer.

Charity: Get one give five
"Everything great in our world happens because someone does more than he has to." These words by Helmut Gmeiner, stand for the ideals of Clair Solutions. With every AIO® mask sold, together with the Chameleon Travel Foundation, founder Ingo Lies and Clair Solutions support projects all over the world helping people in need to build sustainable livelihoods. Small organizations such as the award-winning Sanshil Foundation in India, receive an order for the production of 5 cotton face masks for organizations and institutions in need for every AIO® FFP2 mask sold. In addition, 30% of each donation is invested in sewing machines.

The makers: Clair Solutions and founder Anna Müller
The office of the young company Clair Solutions is located in the heart of Cologne, where the 10-person team works on intelligent solutions for healthy respiration. The first design, a scarf with integrated filter solution, won a start-up competition in Shanghai in 2019.

Anna Müller is an absolute power woman being only 27 years old. In 2019 she founded the performance marketing agency MUYDOZO together with the accomplished entrepreneurs Siamak Ghofrani and Florian Eckelmann. Within a very short time, the successful team worked for companies such as Deutsche Bank, Fresenius, Rosetta Stone and Haufe Verlag. Right from the start, the agency served as an in-house incubator for their own products. All of their efforts are adressing the important socio-political challenges of our time.

Consequently, Clair Solutions was founded in 2020 as a core project. The focus is on the development of smart solutions in the field of air filtration. The FFP2 Mask AIO® is their first market-ready product.

The state of NRW subsidized the idea last year and supported the development of the prototypes of the masks, which can now be pre-ordered on Indiegogo as part of the crowdfunding campaign.
